A wide range of agreements are required in the production of any form of entertainment, including agreements under which the producer acquires rights, agreements under which financing is secured and talent/cast is engaged, and agreements under which the physical production of a film (or a production designed for another visual medium or media) is begun.
One can do so by an Assignment Agreement wherein the rights of the film, to an extent as agreed between the parties, can be assigned to the other person for a limited period or for perpetuity. An Assignment Agreement also can be for the whole world or for a specific territory.
A Distribution Agreement must cover terms such as Territorial Limits, Revenue Sharing, IPR rights, term of the agreement, etc.
